Pöttinger introduces a new generation of compact Vitasem seed drills. Machines with widths from 2.5 to 4 m can be combined with various tillage tools, but there are also many new details that make work and operation of the machine easier.
Proven technology with new details – this is how Pöttinger describes in one sentence the changes introduced to Vitasem mechanical seed drills. The main goal of the modernization was to increase efficiency and ease of use. So what has changed?
Tanks – larger and easier to fill
The tanks in the models of the new generation of Vitasem seed drills are up to 25 percent smaller. bigger. As a result, this increases the intervals between filling the tanks and increases work efficiency.
Importantly, the tank opening itself is large enough to pour material from big-bats or with the bucket of a front loader or loader through it. Moreover, the wide support makes it easier to manually fill the container with bags. The wide platform ensures an ergonomic and safe working environment.
It is worth adding that the inside of the tank has lighting that is connected
with headlights on the machine. This will make work even easier and, above all, increase safety – especially at night.
One of the key features of the new machines is the improved calibration process. The seed trays can be easily observed from the side to immediately detect any calibration errors.
Pöttinger designed seed catching chutes that can be extended sideways. All settings and calibration can be conveniently carried out from the left side of the seeder to minimize the time needed to set up the seeding equipment.

Simple calibration
The seed dispenser drive in Vitasem seed drills is mechanically driven from the wheel (electric drive is available as an option) and ensures uniform dosing of a wide range of seed material.
Calibration is normally performed mechanically by rotating the calibration handle. The number of revolutions is displayed on the terminal. When the last five revolutions are reached, an acoustic signal sounds to inform the operator that calibration is nearing completion.

The optionally available electric calibration system can also be installed on seed drills with mechanical metering. According to the manufacturer, this system is as easy as in machines with an electric dosing drive, where the calibration process takes place conveniently at the touch of a button.
Many farmers will certainly be interested in the fact that Vitasem can also be equipped with a Tegosem tank, enabling the simultaneous distribution of other seeds. In this case, the seed is safely placed behind the seed coulters.
Optional press wheels and leveling tines can also be fitted to evenly cover the seed.
