We are just over two months away from the 16th European Economic Congress in Katowice (EEC – European Economic Congress), which is scheduled for May 7-9 this year. Registration for the event is ongoing.
- The 16th European Economic Congress (EEC) will be held on May 7-9, 2024 at the International Congress Center in Katowice.
- In the thematic block devoted to agriculture and food, we will discuss topics such as: sustainable Polish food, Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the food industry, Polish food abroad and the Common Agricultural Policy and Polish agriculture.

Over the course of several editions, the European Economic Congress has gained recognition as an event whose organizers are aware of and actively respond to the key challenges of modern economies and societies. The main trends of this year’s edition will be: Europe, geopolitics and economy; Energy, transformation, security; Climate and sustainable economy; Digital economy, new technologies; Investments and finance; Law and the economy and Migrations, diversity, labor market. The highlighted areas will contribute to the organization of over 160 debates, accompanied by galas, competition finals and banquets. The motto of this year’s edition of the event is: Transform today, change tomorrow. Transformation for the future.
– Our tomorrow depends directly on how deeply and how efficiently we will be able to change together today. This is why we meet and what we will talk about during the 16th edition of the European Economic Congress. Transformation, the keyword that opens our reality, is repeated in various contexts on the agenda and has found its well-deserved place in the slogan that unifies and announces this year’s debates – says Wojciech Kuśpikpresident of the PTWP Group, initiator and organizer of the Congress.
– Drawing on the experience of previous editions of the event, we will try to get ahead of reality, identify trends and define phenomena that have the power to change the image of economic life, also in its social context – he adds.
Multidisciplinarity of trends
The first trend of this year’s edition of the event is: Europe, geopolitics and economy. This area will focus, among others, on: on the 20th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the EU. Scenarios for multiple levels of European integration will be discussed in the context of preparations for the next enlargement. The EU in the global market and the related development dilemmas and economic competitiveness will also be considered. The concept of multi-crisis will also be an important aspect of this trend.
In terms of: Energy, transformation, security includes a new definition of security and energy independence. Congress participants will jointly consider what business and investors expect to become more involved in the transformation of the energy sector, as well as what changes await the industry in the context of renewable energy. How to ensure stability and flexibility: coal, gas, renewable sources or nuclear? This is what the participants of the 16th edition of the event will talk about.
As part of the trend called Climate and sustainable economy discussions will include, among others: around green investments – how to initiate and fund them? What is the role of the financial sector? What is ESG in company strategies, economic cooperation and supply chains? Greenwashing – how not to fall for it? The panelists invited to take part in the debates will discuss all this in May.
Digital economy, new technologies is a series of discussions during which, among others, the most important technological trends of the future, cybersecurity and infrastructure for digital acceleration. What technologies to invest in? Artificial intelligence – an icon of the digital revolution. How to encourage investment in digitalization? Event guests will find answers to these and many other questions.
In turn, in a series of debates entitled Investments and finance the subject of KPO and other EU sources of development funds will be in-depth. Moreover, the discussants will define European priorities in the context of Polish potential and investment needs, such as: infrastructure, sustainable economy, resilience, knowledge, digitalization, innovation.
Another path – Law and economy – will dissect the justice system in Poland in the context of business activity. What does a stable and functional legal order mean for the growth of the economy and the development of entrepreneurship? How to heal state-business relations? The answers will be provided by planned debates.
The last area is Migrations, diversity, labor market. Panelists will look at migration trends that pose a challenge to Europe and migrants on the labor market in the context of their qualifications, but also law and procedures. The topic of discussion will also be diversity and inclusion as a social trend changing team management.
EEC Talks
A new addition to the program of the European Economic Congress is EEC Talks. There will be discussions on the open stage with invited guests, including famous economists, politicians, diplomats and other inspiring people from the world of business, culture and social life. The key criteria for selecting guests for EEC Talks are their personality, openness, communication talent and the important content they have to convey. The elite EEC Talks stage is designed to provide the audience with high-quality presentations and substantive discussions on topics related to economy, politics, diplomacy and culture.
W duchu GREEN
During this year’s edition of the Congress, the organizers included a new zone in the International Congress Center called “Green Planet”, which will refer to sustainable development and the green city concept. Impressive tents with stages and a tunnel connecting them to the International Congress Center will create a transparent and green, multifunctional conference, networking, exhibition and relaxation space. This zone, additionally enriched with a visual and sound setting, will be entirely subordinated to the idea of development in harmony with nature, and congress participants will have the opportunity to relax among the greenery.
The 16th European Economic Congress will be accompanied by ceremonial award galas. The following editions of the competition will be announced: EEC Startup Challenge, Top Municipal Investments and Investor Without Borders.
