First, higher subsidies and later other benefits. The QMP system is a direction that aims to build a raw material base of high-quality, repeatable beef cattle. This is intended to help farmers obtain higher purchasing prices in the future.
An additional PLN 250 for a suckler cow and PLN 130 for fattening in the “Animal Welfare” ecoscheme – this is money to encourage farmers to join the QMP system.
Time is running out
First, you need to obtain a QMP certificate, then you need to include it in the application for direct and area subsidies to ARiMR, which must be submitted by May 15, 2024. As PZPBM emphasizes, the farmer submits the entire animal welfare improvement plan to the Agency. A farmer who meets the requirements of the QAFP or QMP system does not have to have an animal welfare improvement plan.
– Time is running out – says Jerzy Wierzbicki, president of the Polish Association of Beef Cattle Producers. – The QMP certificate entitling to apply for subsidies dedicated to fatteners must be obtained from one of the four certification units before submitting an application for subsidies, and the application for payments under the “Animal Welfare” ecoscheme must be submitted to ARiMR by May 15, 2024 – he adds .
QMP also for dairy breed breeders
From this year, breeders of dairy breeds and their hybrids used for meat purposes can also join the QMP system. The idea is that all fattening owners can improve cattle breeding in terms of animal health and welfare, environmental and climate protection, beef carcass quality and strengthen economic resilience in crisis situations.
As PZPBM emphasizes, the QMP Polska mark will allow you to obtain better prices for livestock because it meets consumers’ requirements regarding quality and repeatability.
“Now is the best time to join the QMP system, because the incentive is the subsidies available from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture under the “Animal Welfare” ecoscheme. Importantly, this year, in case of participation in the QMP system, the limit of 150 DJP no longer applies. This means that the farmer will receive support for as many animals as he submits for certification. – emphasizes the Association.
Currently, approximately 973 thousand tons of live beef are produced in Poland. The vast majority of Polish beef and products made from it go abroad. Most often to Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Israel and Great Britain. The QMP system, which confirms the high quality of live beef, beef and beef products, will allow us to maintain our position on these markets. For this to happen, you need live beef that meets the highest quality standards.
