Dairy organizations of the Polish and Ukrainian dairy sectors appeal to governments to engage in a constructive dialogue to end the dispute on the border between Poland and Ukraine.
The Association of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine and the Polish Chamber of Milk appealed to the prime ministers and ministers of agriculture of Poland and Ukraine to take action regarding the border dispute.
“The Association of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine and the Polish Chamber of Milk once again appeal to the government administration on both sides of the border to engage in a constructive dialogue to end the dispute on the border between Poland and Ukraine,” we read in the appeal.
The Polish and Ukrainian dairy sectors have repeatedly signaled since September 2023 that milk and its products cannot become victims of the lack of dialogue and agreement on grain imports.
Ukraine is one of the leading non-EU recipients of Polish dairy products
“We would like to emphasize that Ukraine is today one of the leading non-EU recipients of Polish dairy products, and the positive balance for Polish exporters in trade between Poland and Ukraine amounts to over EUR 97 million. Polish products are recognizable and valued on the Ukrainian market,” the organizations note.
“We are interested in continuing this cooperation to provide Ukrainian consumers with Polish dairy products and farmers with stable prices for milk. We want to share knowledge, invest on both sides of the border, build bridges for good business and farmers,” emphasize representatives of the dairy sectors of Poland and Ukraine.
Dairy organizations about the situation at the border: “We want to cooperate with each other”
The organizations appeal to the governments of Ukraine and Poland to take into account the specificity of trade in dairy products between our countries.
“We want to cooperate with each other, we want to create a good climate for cooperation on both sides of the border, we want to assure our partners about the continuity of supplies of Polish products to Ukrainian stores and Ukrainian products to Poland. Every meeting, every dialogue and good cooperation brings us closer to ending the conflict,” we read in the appeal.
