On April 10, the Trade Union “Zwiedźkowa Nowoczesna” sent demands to Dariusz Rohde, the new president of KRUS, regarding the indexation of wages of KRUS employees. On April 18, NSZZ “Solidarność” spoke out on this matter and threatened to sue.
A week later (April 18, 2024), ZZ “Zwiedźkowa Społecznej” informs on its website that the leaders of NSZZ “Solidarność” at the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund threatened them with a lawsuit for allegedly disavowing their union. It’s about declaring them inept and ineffective. NSZZ “Solidarność” accuses ZZ “Zwiedźkowa Społeczna” of using false and unbelievable arguments.
NSZZ “Solidarność” in KRUS threatens to sue
We are a trade union operating in the nationwide structure of KRUS, which was the first to regulate the functioning of a trade union in the workplace, as well as to negotiate employment conditions with the employer, in particular the issue of wages. The effectiveness of our activities can be easily verified, for example by the fact of wage regulation. In this context, attributing incompetence in our actions is completely groundless, especially since over time, i.e. since 2022, our institution has seen salary increases resulting from the measures we carry out, i.e. writing letters to decision-makers, conversations with MPs, Senators and Ministers, preparation of the picket and covering the costs of travel to the picket. Moreover, the salary increase in 2023 for KRUS employees was 7.8%. The remaining amount of the increase was obtained thanks to the efforts carried out by our organization – says Jolanta Kołodziej, chairwoman of the company organization NSZZ “Solidarność” in a letter addressed to representatives of ZZ “Zwiedźkowa Społeczna”.
Next, NSZZ “Solidarność” requests the cessation of actions on the part of ZZ “Zwiedźkowa Nowoczesna” discrediting their activities under the threat of filing for protection of their good name in court proceedings.
Where two quarrel, the third could benefit…
Meanwhile, ZZ “Zwiedźkowa Nowoczesna”, which was established a few weeks ago as an alternative to trade unions such as OPZZ and Solidarność, believes that although NSZZ Solidarność boasts about its activities, the earnings of most KRUS employees oscillate around the minimum wage, and KRUS employees are a group one of the lowest paid in the entire public sector. Hence their demands from two weeks ago. NSZZ “Solidarność” in KRUS quickly signed an agreement with the employer this year despite the high dissatisfaction of employees – says ZZ “Zwiedźkowa Społeczna”.
Trade unions are in dispute, and KRUS employees will probably have to wait for a decision on wage indexation.
