In March, the average purchase price of milk according to the Central Statistical Office decreased by 0.2%. This was the third consecutive month of decline in quotations.
Since the beginning of the year, there have been slight price declines on the Polish and EU milk markets, which should now be treated as a correction in the upward trend that began in the second half of last year.
Stopping the decline in the price of purchased milk
In March, according to data from the Central Statistical Office, the average price of raw milk in Poland decreased by 0.2%. to PLN 205.04/100 l. This was the third consecutive decline in quotations after an earlier series of four months of price increases. From March 2023 to March 2024, milk became cheaper by 7.9%.

Prices of dairy products stable on GDT
On the New Zealand GDT platform, the index showing changes in dairy product prices increased by 0.2% in the last session (April 16, 2024). and is by 9.0 percent. higher than this time last year.
During the last tender, the price of whole milk powder (WMP) increased by 0.4 percent, skimmed milk powder (SMP) did not change prices, and the price of butter decreased by 1.4 percent.

According to EC data, in February last year the weighted average price of raw milk purchased in the EU-27 decreased by 0.1%. up to 46.42 euros/100 kg. Over the last 12 months, the average EU milk price has decreased by 13.0%. This was the second consecutive month of a slight decline in the average purchase price of raw milk on the EU market.

According to EC data, the price of raw milk in Poland did not change in February and amounted to EUR 47.65/100 kg. In February 2023-February 2024, quotations decreased by 0.9%. The current milk price in Poland is 2.6% higher. from the EU average.
