Kubota underlines its commitment to developing a climate-neutral and sustainable future by joining Allianz Hydrogen Engine, an organization that combines existing industrial knowledge with research into alternative fuels.
This move is the latest initiative of the Kubota Engines Europe business unit, which aims to increase the use of alternative fuels in power units, mainly hydrogen.
Kubota presented a hydrogen engine
Kubota joins the Allianz Hydrogen Engine (hydrogen alliance) – founded in 2021 and based in Karlsruhe, Germany – after presenting earlier this year a four-cylinder hydrogen combustion engine with a capacity of 3.8 liters and a power of 85 kW – based on its own WG3800 gasoline unit.
– The use of hydrogen to power engines in a variety of equipment applications offers many benefits to both operators and the environment. Our recently developed Kubota H2 hydrogen engine eliminates carbon dioxide emissions, and while maintaining the dimensions of the existing engine, we have maintained a variety of accessory choices and compatibility with existing applications, says Xavier Hamel, senior product manager in the promotion office of the European Kubota engines division.
“We are confident that our partnership with Allianz Hydrogen Engine will significantly strengthen our commitment to protecting the environment by sharing insights and findings,” Hamel added.
Kubota is already signing contracts for the supply of hydrogen units
The Japanese manufacturer also claims that hydrogen powertrain technology is already advanced enough to be used in many markets and sectors, and that when hydrogen is produced from “green electricity”, this technology will significantly contribute to the creation of a neutral climate of the mobility industry.
Moreover, Kubota’s press release stated that the Japanese had signed an agreement with one of the largest producers of power generators (unfortunately without names) to develop a generator equipped with a Kubota hydrogen engine.
