Farmers’ protest in the center of Poznań

On Wednesday, residents of Poznań and the Poznań district should be prepared for temporary traffic disruptions related to the planned farmers’ protest and the passage of tractors in front of the Wielkopolska Provincial Office at Al. Niepodległości – the Poznań police reported.

Difficulties are announced from 9.00 to 11.00, but they should also be expected before and after the indicated assembly hours – warns the police.

“The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. on Roosevelta Street, on the section from Teatralny Bridge to Rondo Kaponiera, where protesters will block the leftmost lanes in both directions. On the remaining lanes, according to the organizer’s declaration, traffic will continue as normal. Then “The participants of the meeting will go to Niepodległości Street in front of the Wielkopolski Provincial Office, where they will suspend traffic on both northbound lanes for 15 minutes,” said Sgt. staff. Łukasz Paterski from the Poznań police.

He added that temporary traffic difficulties may also occur on the access road to Poznań from the direction of Suchy Las. Protesters around At 8.00 they are to set off from Golęczewo, from where they will cross ul. Obornicka, Niestachowska, Żeromskiego, Dąbrowskiego, up to the place where the meeting was held.

“During the protest, officers will constantly direct traffic and indicate possible detour routes, if necessary. Therefore, we appeal to all drivers for understanding and patience on the roads,” Paterski noted.

Police suggest avoiding driving if possible. However, if it is necessary to travel by car during this time, the police recommend using available detours.

Paterski advised drivers to use applications informing about traffic intensity on a given route and to look for alternative routes during the protest.

The police warn that during the meeting, road traffic will be regulated by officers and ask people to follow their orders.
