Last week, grain prices on world stock exchanges ended with an increase in prices on Matif and a decline in prices on CBOT. Corn gained the most on the Paris Stock Exchange for a week – 3.7%.
Corn on Matif is the market leader
European maize listed on Matif is regaining vigor. Last week the price increased by over 3%. exceeding the level of EUR 200/t – for the first time in several months.
Wheat in the contract for delivery in May increased by 0.4% on Friday on Matif. and cost EUR 206.50/t (PLN 894/t), and on a y/y basis the prices dropped by 19.3%. Over the last week, the price of wheat has increased by 1.5%.
The price of corn on the Paris Stock Exchange in the June contract increased by 2.3 percent on Friday. and amounted to EUR 201.75/t (PLN 874/t), and over the last year it decreased by 17.6%. During the week, the quotations increased by 3.7%.
Overseas, grain prices fell on a weekly basis
Wheat on CBoT in the May contract increased by 2.5% on Friday. and cost USD 202.18/t. On a y/y basis, the prices fell by 17.6%. Over the last week, the price has decreased by 1.0%. The price of corn in the contract for delivery in May on the Chicago Stock Exchange increased by 1.6%. and amounted to USD 170.66/t, and over the last year it decreased by 34.7%. Over the last week, prices fell by 0.5%.
