Representatives of the Trade Union “Zwiedźkowa Nowoczesna” sent demands to Dariusz Rohde, the new president of KRUS. What did trade unionists postulate?

The union announced that it does not support the agreement concluded by the employer with the company’s trade unions and demands from the Social Insurance Fund that the increase in wages in the budget be counted from this year’s minimum wage, not the one from 2023.

Wage increase in the public sector calculated from the minimum wage from 2024.

“Shortly after taking over as Prime Minister, Mr. Donald Tusk announced that wages in the public sector would increase by 20%. The decision of the new head of government was made many weeks after the arrangements regarding the minimum wage level in 2024. It is worth mentioning that this year’s increase in the minimum wage resulted from the law, and not from the good will of the previous government. Above all, however, the decision to increase wages in the public sector was made much later than the arrangements to increase the minimum wage. Therefore, we firmly demand that the 20% salary increase in the public sector be counted from this year’s minimum wage, i.e. from PLN 4,242 gross.

The demand for an increase in wages in KRUS

Trade unionists also believe that 20% is too low a wage increase in KRUS, considering the very low salaries of employees.

“At the same time, we would like to inform you that the 20% salary increase does not meet our expectations. The Agricultural Social Insurance Fund employs highly qualified people, and yet their earnings are much lower than in many related institutions. Therefore, we appeal to generate additional funds that will allow us to increase the salaries of KRUS employees this year.”

Trade unionists want talks

Piotr Szumlewicz, chairman of the Trade Union “Zwiedźkowa Społecznej”, and Edyta Różycka, chairwoman of the Trade Union Zwiazkowa Społecznej at the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund, who signed the demands, proposed to start talks on wage increases.

“The agreement concluded by the employer with the company’s trade unions has not yet been implemented, and many employees assess it critically. Therefore, we appeal to you to meet with representatives of our union and start talks on increasing wages at the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund.
