We are checking the situation at the still blocked border crossings in Dorohusk, Dołhobyczów and Hrebenne. Farmers say they will not give up.

Farmers protesting at the borders have been protesting continuously since February 9. Currently, blockades are taking place at three border crossings – in Dorohusk, Dołhobyczów and Hrebenne. Protests in Zosini, Korczowa and Medyka are suspended, but as the farmers emphasize, this is only a suspension, not liquidation.

We will not leave here until we are removed by force, say the protesting farmers.

Border strikes will be maintained

In recent days, news broke that the border strikes would be resolved. The farmers we talked to in Dorohusk firmly deny these rumors.

As they emphasize, a lot depends on the meeting scheduled for Sunday between representatives of the Grassroots National Farmers’ Protest and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

We are determined and we will not back down. There is no point in detaining us and ascribing a political protest to us, says Stanisław Lipniak, a farmer protesting in Dorohusk. – We don’t care about partial solutions.

Protesters in Dorohusk organize their protests on a 12-hour basis, although now, during the period of intensified field work, the duty system is fluid. As the hosts emphasize, there are no problems with organizing the protest – farmers are replaced depending on their time availability.

It would take a cataclysmic event to get us out of here. Or the Green Deal would have to end up in the trash, adds Lipniak. – The protest is still ongoing, we hope that there will be specifics during the meeting with the Prime Minister, but for now there is no indication of this. If there are no solutions, all borders will be drawn, the protest will intensify.

Problems with organizing the protest in Dołhobyczów

The situation in Dołhobyczów is much worse when it comes to the cast. Even though there are few protesters, they do not want to give up and announce that they will maintain the strike.

If the meeting with the Prime Minister announced for Sunday does not bring concrete solutions, the strike will be continued until the end, even despite the problems with staffing. Unofficially, we learned that tomorrow at the crossing in Dołhobyczów there will be support from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship – farmers are trying to support and mobilize their forces.

Currently, the queue of trucks waiting at the border crossing in Dorohusk is 7 kilometers long.

On the Ukrainian side, in Dołhobyczów, there are over 90 trucks.

What is disturbing is the fact that, despite previous announcements, the meeting of representatives of the Grassroots National Farmers’ Protest with Prime Minister Donald Tusk scheduled for today (April 12), at 5 p.m., has not been confirmed.
