Monday’s USDA Crop Progress report shows corn harvest is complete or nearly complete in most of the top corn-growing states.
Corn
As of Nov. 19, 93% of corn in the top 18 corn-producing states is now harvested, up from 88% the week prior and ahead of the five-year average of 91%.
Winter Wheat
USDA says winter wheat is 95% planted as of Nov. 19 in the top 18 growing states, up from 93% the week prior and slightly behind the five-year average of 96%.
The report says 87% of the crop has emerged, up from 81% a week ago and ahead of the five-year average of 85%.
Seventeen percent of winter wheat is rated in poor/very poor condition, equal to the previous week. A total of 35% is rated fair, down 1% week-over-week. A total of 48% is rated in good/excellent condition, up 1% from the week prior.
