Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solsky confirmed that Ukraine may agree to the export limits proposed by Poland, but only in relation to four cereals. Today, the EU is to decide on a free trade agreement with Ukraine.
-We are ready to accept a licensing system for the export of products intended for Poland, but only for four types of cereals. We already have a similar system with Romania and Bulgaria,” Mykola Solsky said in an interview with AFP before Monday’s meeting of the European Council in Brussels.
On the same day, Polish Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Hetman assured that negotiations with Ukraine regarding export limits and licensing are “at a very advanced stage”.
The EU Council has not yet decided on restrictions on duty-free trade with Ukraine, but it is known that such restrictions will be introduced. This is what Poland demands, whose position was recently supported by France. A meeting on this matter is scheduled in Brussels today, but according to Western media reports, many governments have not taken a final position on this matter.
