For violating the ban on working on Sundays and holidays, a farmer faces a fine of EUR 500. He was not allowed to complete his field work.

The police treated a certain farmer from Reichertshofen, in the Eichstätt district in Bavaria (Germany), like a common criminal, reports the Bavarian Agricultural Weekly. What has the host done wrong? He went on Sunday afternoon to harrow the field…

The police were informed about the fact by “well-wishers” who were disturbed by the roar of the tractor. They reminded the officers that, according to the new law, agricultural work cannot be performed on Sundays and public holidays unless it is “urgent” work.

A police patrol went to the site and found that the farmer was driving a tractor with a harrow attached to the field. The officers decided that there were no procedures that could not be performed on Monday without harm, so they forbade the farmer to finish the job and ordered him to return home. In addition, the 29-year-old man faces a fine of at least EUR 500.
