The border is still protesting – Dorohusk and Hrebenne are blocked

Despite the suspension of some protests in the country, the border blockade at the crossings in Drohusk and Hrebenne continues. Farmers announce that they will spend as much time at the borders as needed to obtain satisfactory solutions.

After signing the agreements in Jasionka, some of the protests in the country and at the borders were suspended. However, a large number of farmers do not recognize the agreement and do not intend to leave the streets.

The border with Ukraine is still blocked

Representatives of the National Farmers’ Protest, which brings together leaders of protest centers across the country, have already announced that the protests will not stop, only their form will change. On April 4, they plan to visit MPs and senators in their offices throughout the country. There is also talk of marching on Warsaw and blocking ministries and office buildings.

Protests continued in other parts of the country as well. The Polish-Ukrainian border in Dorohusk and Hrebenne is still blocked.

We intend to stay here until formal solutions that satisfy us are introduced – says Michał Sawicki, a farmer from the Lublin region. – We will stay here for the entire holidays, just like our colleagues at other borders – he adds.

Farmers announce protests against... farmers

The farmers protesting at the borders do not intend to give up. Especially since they feel a lot of support in the local community. Local residents provide wood for fueling the braziers, and support rural wives’ associations with food.

You can find photos online showing what the protest reality looks like.

Farmers are calling for joining the strike at the border

The strikers also made an appeal to society. You will find its content below.

“Appeal of Polish Farmers from the Eastern Border To all Poles in cities large and small who want bread made from Polish grain

For over a month, day and night, in the cold and rain, we have been on strike on the eastern border. We fight for:

  • our independence,
  • Polish land cultivated with care and love,
  • for centuries by a Polish peasant Healthy Polish food Food security in Poland,
  • withdrawing the absurdities of the “Green Deal”

We make sure that trucks carrying contaminated food from Ukraine do not enter the country.

We have the obligation and the right to ensure that our tables include bread from Polish grain, eggs from our hens, and oil from Polish rapeseed for centuries to come. We want to go out into the fields, in peace of heart and spirit, to sow grain and cultivate the land given to us by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. We will not shrink from our sacred duty and fight for our freedom, the freedom of the Polish farmer.

From the depths of our tormented hearts, we appeal: Take your flags and join us at the border!

We organize accommodation, board and lodging locally. Rural Women’s Circles provide hot meals and hot drinks. The police keep the peace and support us.”

Solidarity agricultural vests are burning. Farmers have had enough

The border protest will not be suspended for the holiday season.
