Solidarity agricultural vests are burning. Farmers have had enough

The agreement signed between agricultural unions and the ministry in Jasionka continues to echo. Embittered farmers burn the vests of the Solidarity Trade Union of Individual Farmers.

The agreement signed in Jasionka between agricultural unions, farmers and the ministry caused a lot of emotions.

Farmers burn NSZZ RI Solidarność vests

In Podlasie, farmers decided to vent their dissatisfaction and burned the vests of NSZZ RI Solidarność, whose representatives had signed the arrangements presented in Jasionka.

Enough of them ruling for thirty years. They cheated, traitors signed! – the farmers shouted, throwing their vests into the fire. – This is a summary of the agreement that Solidarity signed against the will of farmers. She deceived farmers. So they cheated, said they wouldn’t sign anything against the farmers, but they signed it behind their backs, cheating. They thought nothing would come of it, but the truth came out – they say in a video posted on Facebook.

Farmers’ representatives who sat down at the table in Jasionka included: Andrzej Sobociński, a farmer from Żuławy; Władysław Serafin, president of the National Association of Agricultural Circles and Organizations; Tomasz Obszański, president of NSZZ Rolników Indywidualnych Solidarność, Adam Koncik, farmer protesting at the border in Świecko; Filip Pawlik from Agrounia; Roman Kondrów, leader of the protest in Medyka, and Wiesław Gryn, a farmer from the Lublin region.

Farmers announce protests against... farmers

NSZZ RI Solidarność explains itself

Representatives of Solidarity RI referred to the emotional speeches of farmers in the statement.

We do not treat this document as any agreement. I would like to inform you that I refused to sign a binding agreement on the terms proposed by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski and Mr. Artur Balazs, because the proposed agreement included only the problems of the grain sector, while other agricultural sectors on the verge of bankruptcy were omitted – wrote Tomasz Obszański, chairman of NSZZ RI Solidarność.

We are building an ecological future: next-generation agricultural production plants

As Obszański emphasizes, NSZZ RI Solidarność upheld the application for aid in the amount of EUR 15 billion from the European Union for Polish agriculture as war compensation.

Moreover, we maintain the demands to suspend the introduction of the so-called “Green Deal”. We continue to demand an immediate halt to the uncontrolled import of agricultural produce and food products, mainly from Ukraine and Russia, to the territory of the European Union, and especially to the territory of Poland. We demand the restoration of protection of the EU market on the principles applicable before Russia’s attack on Ukraine, an urgent solution to the issue of a railway line allowing for the rapid transport of grain to Polish seaports and the long-postulated expansion of maritime grain terminals. Without the implementation of these demands, an agreement is impossible, he added.

The Chairman assured that the protests and border and road blockades will continue in accordance with the announced 30-day general strike of NSZZ RI “Solidarity”.

We will not leave this path until we get what we are fighting for, he adds.
