Farmers still have public support. The survey leaves no doubts

Although farmers have blocked half of the country, public support for agricultural protests is very high. Over 72 percent respondents support the protests – “Rzeczpospolita” reported on Tuesday.

The newspaper explained that 51.6 percent respondents strongly support the protests, and 21 percent declares that he rather supports them.

According to the daily, among the people surveyed in the IBRiS survey conducted for “Rzeczpospolita”, only one in ten respondents expressed a strong disagreement when asked about the degree of support for the demonstration.

According to the newspaper, this level of support for agricultural demonstrations may come as a surprise to residents of Warsaw or other metropolises stuck in traffic jams caused by protesters. However, this does not come as a surprise to sociologists: these attitudes have been present in their research for a long time. However, it is not about solidarity with farmers or knowledge about their difficult situation.

Poles are afraid of the Green Deal

The newspaper reported that Poles fear that as a result of the green transformation, they may lose civilizational goods and determinants of advancement that they have only recently achieved. – They are afraid that they will have to give up having a combustion car and that they will not be able to afford an electric one, which will mean that they will have to return to public transport. This is not a problem in Warsaw, but let’s try to use such transport in the provinces, where 60% of people live. citizens of the country.

In provincial Poland, without a car is like without a hand. There is also the impression that the costs of transformation have been placed on the shoulders of ordinary citizens, and the profits from this process go to large corporations.
