Are you preparing cold meats for Easter? Check the current prices of half carcasses

Purchasing ready-made half-carcasses is much more convenient than slaughtering a fattened pig on the farm. We check the current purchase prices.

This is literally the last call to prepare meat and cold cuts yourself for the upcoming Easter. As always at this time, the question arises: should I slaughter the animal myself, use a slaughterhouse service at a slaughterhouse, or buy ready-made half-carcasses? For people who fatten pigs themselves for their own household, the best solution is contract slaughter – the cost is around PLN 100-150. This price includes slaughter and preparation of half-carcasses, as well as examination for the presence of Trichinella.

How much does a half carcass cost?

However, if we do not have a home-grown fattened pig, we can only buy half-carcasses from a local slaughterhouse. The prices of half-carcasses are, of course, correlated with the purchase price of fattened pigs, and since they are currently high, we will also pay quite a lot for the finished raw material. The current prices from our today’s survey are presented below.

Converting this into a whole half-carcass (we will assume, for example, a weight of 45 kg) will cost us from PLN 500 to approximately PLN 580.
