What did KRUS employees win with the KRUS management?

In the second half of May, we reported that the Trade Union of KRUS had entered into a collective dispute with the management of the Fund. Employees demand, among others: increase in basic salaries by 60%. Which demands were won?

May 21 this year The Trade Union Trade Union Alternative in KRUS informed that it had entered into a collective dispute with the management of the Fund.

As Piotr Szumlewicz, chairman of the Trade Union Zwiedźkowa Społeczna, and Edyta Różycka, chairwoman of the Trade Union Zwiedźkowa Społeczna KRUS, reported at the time, the union (at KRUS) demands the implementation of four demands:

  • An increase in basic salaries from June 1, 2024 by 60%
  • Calculation of the statutory 20% increase in wages (resulting from the Act
budget) – from the amount of the minimum wage applicable as of January 1, 2024, and not as of December 21, 2023 (i.e. from the amount of PLN 4,242 gross, and not lower)
  • introduction of electronic working time records
  • increasing the flexibility of working time by introducing:
flexi-time working regulations 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. as part of the basic system in accordance with regulations 140(1) of the Labor Code

Which demands were won?

On June 13, a meeting was held between representatives of the Trade Union Trade Union of the Trade Union of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund and the authorities of KRUS. The trade union side was represented by the leader of the Trade Union Alternative in KRUS, Edyta Różycka, and the chairman of the headquarters, Piotr Szumlewicz. The KRUS authorities were represented by the vice-president of KRUS, Grzegorz
Mroczek with a group of advisors.

It was the first meeting of the union and the employer as part of the ongoing collective dispute, and the topics discussed included the four above-mentioned issues. the union’s demands included in the dispute: an increase in basic salaries from June 1, 2024 by 60%, calculation of this year’s wage increase by 20% on the minimum wage, which entered into force on January 1 this year, and not at the end of last year, introduction of electronic working time records, increasing the flexibility of working time by introducing flexitime in the work regulations.

– During the meeting, the employer agreed to quickly implement two non-wage demands, i.e. the introduction of electronic working time records and increased working time flexibility. Vice-President Mroczek declared that electronic records of working time will soon come into force and the possibility of more flexible working time will be introduced in KRUS branches throughout the country. So far, employees worked from 7.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. – soon they will be able to start work between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and finish it between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Details on the implementation of the above two solutions are to be presented by the KRUS authorities before the end of June and to sign binding declarations on this subject with our union. – inform the editors of farmer.pl Szumlewicz and Różycka.

As they also add:

– During the talks, the employer agreed with us that wages at KRUS are too low and should be significantly increased, but emphasized that there is no possibility of increasing them without a government decision. Our representatives replied that in accordance with the Act on the resolution of collective disputes, not the prime minister, but the president of a specific state institution is responsible for the amount of salary. So if the KRUS authorities are unable to provide increases, they should convince the government to do so. Taking into account the lack of binding arrangements on wage increases, the parties agreed to quickly draw up a protocol of discrepancies and move to the next stage of the collective dispute. Our union will consistently demand a significant increase in wages and, in the absence of constructive proposals from the employer, will take industrial action.
