– We will do everything to develop animal breeding in Poland, including minks; We want systemic solutions in this matter, not ad hoc solutions – said on Wednesday the chairman of OPZZ Farmers and Agricultural Organizations, Sławomir Izdebski.
- On Wednesday, at a press conference during the second day of the European Agricultural Forum in Jasionka, the agreement signed on Tuesday night between representatives of agricultural organizations and the Minister of Agriculture was presented.
- One of the points stipulates that the Minister of Agriculture is to ask Prime Minister Donald Tusk to suspend the transit of agricultural products from Ukraine covered by the embargo through Polish territory.
– What was signed yesterday are only arrangements. This is the first step towards taking further steps,” said Izdebski. He added that the agreement was signed not by all representatives of protest organizers from all over Poland who were at the meeting with the Prime Minister.
Most of the people who signed the agreement included grain producers, he said.
As he said, “the main topic and source of this document was the Polish government’s support for grain producers.” – Farmers need support and funds to get out into the field now – emphasized the chairman of OPZZ Farmers and Agricultural Organizations. He also said that “our third postulate is the development – broadly understood – of animal breeding in Poland.” – We must look for systemic solutions, not ad hoc solutions – he added.
– We will focus strongly on the development of animal breeding, including minks. There are no restrictions, on the contrary – we will do everything to develop these farms in Poland – he emphasized.
Izdebski announced that farmers want to organize a meeting of trade unions of all industries that cooperate with OPZZ Farmers and Agricultural Organizations on Friday.
Today I talked to the Minister of Agriculture, Czesław Siekierski, and he agreed initially – he added.
