
As a result of the efforts of the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate, a decision was made at the EU level to limit the scope of the red zone in Greater Poland.
Areas that were included in the zone after the outbreak of the ASF outbreak in Obornickia County, which took place on June 29 last year, were released from the zone. As a result of the publication of the EC implementing regulation of February 29, communes of Szamotuły County, among others, and some communes were released from the zone. Obornica County.
New shape of the red zone
As a result of recent changes, the following areas remain in the red zone in Greater Poland:
- part of the Oborniki commune in Oborniki County
- Czerwonak, Murowana Goślina, Suchy Las communes in Poznań poviat,
- part of the Skoki commune in Wągrowiec County
Red zones in Poland
In addition to the region in question, there are two red zones in Poland. We are talking about the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (fragments of communes in the Giżycko, Gołdap and Węgorzewo counties) and the Lublin Voivodeship (communes or fragments of communes in the Biała Podlaska, Lubartów, Parczew and Radzyński counties.
Swine ASF in 2023
In 2023, 30 pig ASF outbreaks were confirmed in the country. Most of them appeared in the Lublin Voivodeship (Radzyński, Lubartów, Parczewski and Chełm poviats) and in Greater Poland (Miedzychodzki, Obornicki and Poznań poviats). Additionally, the disease appeared in Masuria (Gołdap County) and in the Masovian Voivodeship (Makowski and Radom County), Lower Silesia (Lubański County) and West Pomeranian Voivodeship (Police County).
