Two new ASF outbreaks confirmed in a herd of pigs have appeared on the map of the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate. They broke out in the Murowana Goślina commune in the Poznań district.
A week has passed since the first ASF outbreak was confirmed this year, and we already have five herds of pigs affected by the disease. The Chief Veterinary Inspectorate has just announced the outbreak of two new outbreaks of swine fever.
Where did ASF outbreaks occur?
Outbreaks No. 4 and 5 broke out in Długa Goślina in the Murowana Goślina commune in Poznań County. Both herds are located in the area subject to the greatest restrictions (red zone), which results from the occurrence of disease outbreaks last year. New cases eliminate the region’s chances of soon abolishing the zone; it will probably only be possible in 12 months.
Swine ASF in 2024
Let us remind you: the first ASF outbreak this year was confirmed on June 4 in the Hrubieszów district in the Lublin region. Another two outbreaks broke out at the end of last week in the Iława poviat (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) and Gryfino poviat (West Pomeranian Voivodeship).
In 2023, 30 pig ASF outbreaks were confirmed in Poland. They occurred in the following voivodeships: Lower Silesia, Lublin, Masovia, Warmian-Masurian, Greater Poland and West Pomeranian.
