
According to the latest data from the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate, nearly 50 new ASF outbreaks in wild boars have been confirmed in the country over the past seven days.
Last week, 49 ASF outbreaks were confirmed. The disease occurred in nine voivodeships, with the most cases reported in the west of the country, especially in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Attention is also drawn to the increasing dynamics of the disease’s development in the eastern outskirts of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
During the mentioned period, traces of ASF were confirmed in tissues collected from 84 wild boars. 37 outbreaks concerned dead wild boars, 11 animals shot, and one outbreak concerned an animal killed in a traffic accident.

ASF in 2024
Since the beginning of the year, 403 ASF outbreaks have been confirmed in the wild boar population in the country. For comparison, in the same period of 2023, we had over 700 confirmed outbreaks. However, no outbreaks of ASF in pigs have been confirmed since the beginning of the year.
