VEZG decided to maintain the current rates. How much do fattened pigs cost in Germany?

Price stabilization on the German fattening pig market continues. Today’s VEZG session did not bring any change in the price of fattened pigs recommended by the association.

There was no indication that VEZG prices would start to rise. Since the beginning of March, all ISW exchange quotations ended with a rate of EUR 2.35 per kilogram.

It is therefore not surprising that today’s auction at VEZG also did not bring a change in the recommended price of fattening pigs. For another week in a row, the base rate of EUR 2.20 per kilogram of fattened pig with a meat content of 57% will apply. (equivalent to our E class). The last changes on the major stock exchange were observed at the end of February.

Converted into the national currency (according to the euro exchange rate today: EUR 1 = PLN 4.28), the rate from the large exchange is PLN 9.50/kg compared to PLN 9.48/kg last week.

Prices of fattening pigs in Poland

At the beginning of the week, the prices of fattening pigs in domestic purchases were PLN 9.10 net per kilogram of class E pigs and PLN 9.05 net per kilogram of livestock. Prices are clearly below the German stock exchange and so far there is no indication that this will change.
