Tractor sales in March. There is a slight bounce
813 new agricultural tractors in March – a significantly better result compared to February. But still the first quarter of this year. closes with a significant minus compared to last year.

This year’s March ended with 813 registrations of new tractors, which is a result lower by 198 units compared to the same month in 2023, when 1,011 registrations were recorded – informs the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Agricultural Machines and Facilities in the report.

March was better, but the quarter was weaker

In the first quarter of 2024, 2,037 registrations of new tractors were recorded. This is a result lower by 468 items compared to the same period last year. The decline is 18.7 percent.

There is no doubt that most machine manufacturers are feeling the recession. The situation concerns not only producers of agricultural tractors, but also accompanying machines, combines and other equipment.

New Holland in the lead

New Holland has maintained its leading position since the beginning of the year and recorded 310 registrations of new tractors in the three months of this year. However, first place does not mean the absence of relegations. The brand of the Italian concern CNH sold 96 fewer tractors than a year earlier. Market shares of the New Holland brand after the first quarter of this year. that’s 15.2 percent This time last year, the share was 16.2 percent.

Kubota maintains second place and has 283 registered machines. This is only 2 pieces less than last year. This allowed us to achieve 13.9%. market shares.

John Deere ranks third with 276 registrations, but it also sees sales decline. There were 140 fewer tractors with a deer in their logo registered than last year. The shares of the John Deere brand in the first quarter of 2024 amounted to 13.5%.

First off the podium is Deutz-Fahr. 157 new tractors of this brand were registered, which is 85 fewer than last year. DF’s market share after three months of the year is 7.7%.

The Claas brand will advance to fifth place with 130 registrations and a share of 6.4. Claas is a rare exception here, which increased sales in the first quarter – by 32 units year on year.

The most popular models – with a surprise

Among the most popular models – a surprise. In the period January-March this year. the winner is Farmtrac Tractors Europe 26 4WD, of which 37 units were registered. This is a model of a brand that is not among the most frequently chosen brands in general.

Deutz-Fahr with the 5080 D Keyline model takes second place with 34 pieces. Kubota EK1-261 takes third place with 32 pieces.

The next 4 places are occupied by John Deere models, with 24 to 26 units registered. In eighth place is the Indian Solis 26 4 WD 9+9 (also 24 units).

When it comes to tables in which the most important parameter is power, the leader in the lowest categories, up to 50 HP, is the Kubota brand. In the 51-140 HP category, New Holland is first. At the highest power levels, above 140 HP, farmers most often chose the John Deere brand. So there are no surprises in this matter.

After the first quarter of 2024, only in the category up to 30 HP there are more registrations than in the same period a year earlier. The remaining ones show declines in the number of registrations.
