
Quotations of dairy products on the New Zealand Global Dairy Trade exchange remain in green. The increase was small, but the upward trend continued.
Session of February 20 this year. on the Global Dairy Trade stock exchange ended in positive territory for the sixth time in a row, which means 3 months of uninterrupted increases in quotations on the New Zealand stock exchange. The value of the general price index this time increased only slightly, by only 0.5%.
The increase in the general price index translated into an increase in the prices of most available categories of dairy products. The largest increase was recorded in the case of anhydrous milk fat (+8.6%). However, the largest decline occurred in the case of Cheddar cheese (+7.6%).
A slight decline in the sales volume of dairy products
At the last GDT session, 24,306 tons of dairy products were sold, which was only 530 tons lower compared to the previous auction. The results of the last GDT session are as follows:
- Anhydrous milk fat – increase by 8.6%,
- Butter – increase by 0.1%,
- Buttermilk powder – not offered,
- Cheddar cheese – decrease by 7.6%,
- Lactose – decrease by 1.0%,
- Mozzarella – increase by 5.3%,
- Skimmed milk powder – increase by 1.3%,
- Whole milk powder – down 1.8%.
