Farmer: be vigilant. The arrival of turnips in the fields may occur exceptionally early this year….
– Let’s abandon economic analyses, CAP profits and losses, EZŁ… for a moment. The election dust has settled. Forest in Masovia, wood anemone and bird cherry are blooming… – reports Radosław Iwański, editor-in-chief of Farmer, enchanted by the local circumstances of the exuberant nature.
– I know, I know, rapeseed too – he adds.
And all this is happening on April 8….
Well, all signs in the sky indicate that this year – a leap year anyway – will be different from others. – Rapeseed started flowering at record speed! – editor Karol Bogacz from Lower Silesia reports to us.
And this means… that turnip will also go to the fields exceptionally early this year.

Yellow-flowering rapeseeds are a popular background for photos posted on social media. Regardless of gender, age, origin, social status, education and profession… We are waiting to see who will be the first to boast of such a cute photo this year…
But what makes some people happy may be a source of worry for others. Farmers have been calling for years not to destroy their crops, because after all, this is an invasion of private land, which often ends in broken plants and losses for the farmer.

It is worth recalling a video by Łukasz Pergoł, one of the farmers active on the X platform, in which he advises how to take a good shot of rapeseed without destroying the field:
– You can take a beautiful shot in front of the field without entering, destroying, breaking or damaging the plants. If you want to get into rapeseed, have a photo inside the rapeseed, look for technological paths through which farmers enter the field with plant protection products, with fertilizers, to protect this beautiful rapeseed, to create it for you, so that there is oil and money for us – explains the farmer. He adds that it is worth using the paths so as not to stain your clothes with pollen. – Let’s respect each other, support each other, let’s take beautiful photos, but let’s not destroy – says Łukasz.
However, if we see that this type of technique of protecting fields against “pests” does not bring the expected result, we can always resort to the last resort – the Code of Petty Offenses.
Article 156 of the Code of Petty Offenses: – Whoever destroys crops, seedlings or grass on forest or agricultural land that does not belong to him, shall be subject to a fine of up to PLN 500 or a reprimand. In the event of committing an offense, damages up to PLN 500 may be awarded.
