The Russians bombed the plants of the UkrLandFarming holding in Ukraine. One person injured

The target of the Russian missile attack was a civilian processing plant in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, belonging to the Ukrlandfarming holding. The owner of the holding company is wanted for corruption.

As the Ukrlandfarming group reported in a statement, the Russians attacked civilian production plants, destroying grain elevators in the Dnipropetrovsk region. One employee was injured in the attack.

The attack took place on the evening of March 9 this year. The technical infrastructure of the plant suffered damage, and above all, the elevators were completely destroyed. The injured worker is a 58-year-old man. The Dnipropetrovsk District Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation into violations of war laws and customs. The scale and value of the damage are currently being assessed.

UkrLandFarming is a Ukrainian agri-food holding founded in 2007 by oligarch Oleg Bakhmatyuk. Currently, it is one of the largest agroholdings in Ukraine, with an area of 670,000 hectares of agricultural land. In terms of land area, it is the eighth largest agricultural company in the world. UkrLandFarming includes, among others: a global leader in egg production, and currently also one of the largest grain exporters in Ukraine.

However, the owner of the holding, Oleg Bachmatyuk, is being prosecuted by the Ukrainian justice system and is in hiding. The oligarch is accused of corruption. He allegedly paid bribes totaling PLN 76.95 million to the heads of the Ukrainian Tax Service over the course of two years in exchange for undue tax refunds. Bachmatyuk is currently wanted on an arrest warrant.
