On Thursday, Minister of Agriculture Czesław Siekierski met with delegations of protesting farmers. During the meeting, the deputy head of ARiMR, Leszek Szymański, announced the expected payment schedule for eco-schemes.
– Most of the payments related to area eco-schemes will be paid in March – Vice-President Szymański began his statement to farmers. We are now in a situation where we have to determine the rates of surface ecoschemes – he added.
Why now?
– A financial envelope is allocated for individual mechanisms. And this financial envelope is divided by the hectares that qualify for support. We now need to verify the applications in the system, determine the number of hectares and divide the financial envelope by the number of eligible hectares, said the vice president.
He added that until the system verifies the applications, the Agency cannot responsibly provide information to the Minister of Agriculture so that he can make a decision on determining specific rates for eco-schemes and publish them in the regulation.
Everything will become clear in February
– On February 19, we will present to the ministry proposals for the rates of area eco-schemes, and by February 23, I think it will be in the form of a regulation (…), on February 26, we will start calculating payments – Leszek Szymański said at a meeting with farmers at the Ministry of Agriculture.
And he added:
– In reality, payments to your accounts related to surface eco-schemes will be made in March.
Szymański also informed that the reason for all delays in the payment of receivables was the faulty ARiMR IT system.
