The black series continues. We already have eight pig ASF outbreaks

We didn’t have to wait long for further ASF outbreaks in pig herds. First, the disease broke out again in the Nowe Miasto district in Warmia, and now the disease appeared in a herd of pigs in the Obornica district.

We have already written about the outbreak of the seventh ASF outbreak. It can only be added that the Nowe Miasto district, where three herds infected with the disease have already been confirmed this year, is the fourth district in the country in terms of the number of animals kept. According to ARiMR data, at the end of last year there were nearly 170,000 people kept there. pigs.

ASF in the Obornica district

The eighth ASF outbreak this year was confirmed in the Rogoźno commune, which administratively belongs to the Obornica poviat. This is the first outbreak in this district this year. The nearest herds infected with ASF were confirmed in the neighboring Poznań poviat, approximately 13 kilometers away.

ASF also affected the Obornica district a year ago. At that time, one plague outbreak was confirmed in the Oborniki commune.

We have another outbreak of pig ASF. This time in the north of the country

Swine ASF in 2024

This year, ASF hit herds with exceptional force. In just 10 days, we have already confirmed 8 disease outbreaks. It all started in the east of the Lublin Voivodeship (Hrubieszów County), later the disease occurred in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Currently, the two main clusters of ASF outbreaks are Warmia (Iława and Nowe Miasto poviats) and central Greater Poland (Poznań and Obornicki poviats).
