Purina Animal Nutrition to offer K in scholarships

Purina Animal Nutrition has announced its newest round of scholarship applications designed to assist agriculture and livestock production students in pursuing their passions and furthering their undergraduate educations.

The Purina Animal Nutrition Scholarship was created for the next generation of animal caretakers. This year, over $20,000 in scholarships will be available through four $5,000 scholarships to be awarded in 2024.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sponsor’s sole discretion, and Scholarship America’s evaluation team reviews eligible applications.

To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must be:

  • High school seniors, graduates, or current college undergraduates residing and studying in the United States
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the upcoming academic year
  • Have experience showing or caring for large/small livestock animals, equine, or poultry

Applications open on March 18 and close on April 17.  Winners will be selected based on academic records, leadership, participation in school and community activities, recommendations, livestock showing careers, and an essay of 1,000 characters or less.

The essay topic this year, is “Tell us about a valuable life lesson you learned from caring for livestock, poultry and/or horses.”

Applications are open from March 18 through April 17. One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than April 22, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time.
