About 580 trucks are standing in line on Sunday morning at the crossing with Ukraine in Korczowa. The waiting time for check-in there is 36 hours, but there are slightly fewer cars there than on Saturday. However, there are more and more trucks in the queue to Medyka. The waiting time for customs clearance there is over 14 days.
The queues are the result of the protest of farmers who blocked access roads. However, the protest in Medyka is still ongoing, so there are more and more cars in the queue. In Korczowa, where farmers left the road at midnight from Friday to Saturday, the queue is shrinking.
About 580 trucks are waiting to cross in Korczowa before leaving Poland. Cars are parked along DK94, at the motorway MOP in Hruszowice and in the parking lot in Młyny. The queue ends there too – said the spokesman for the Podkarpacie police, Kom. Piotr Wojtunik, on Sunday. About 330 trucks are waiting in line to cross the Medyka crossing on Sunday, but this is a dozen or so vehicles more than on Saturday evening. The cable car ends in Radymno, about 28 km from Medyka.
The services inform
Queues translate into waiting time for trucks to be cleared at border crossings with Ukraine. In Korczowa, where the queue is slowly getting shorter, the estimated time to cross the border – according to the services on the website granita.gov.pl – is 36 hours on Sunday. 345 hours, i.e. over 14 days, drivers have to wait for customs clearance at the Medyka crossing.
At the crossing in Krościenko, where customs clearance for vehicles with a total permissible weight not exceeding 7.5 tons is allowed, car drivers wait for about 12 hours for customs clearance on Sunday. Other vehicles at all Podkarpacie crossings are checked in on an ongoing basis.
The services emphasize that the protests are taking place outside border crossings. “The waiting time of trucks in queues in places where protests take place does not depend on the border services” – they assure. (PAP)
