Police step in to rescue loose Ohio and Kentucky pigs

As winter’s chill embraced the U.S., it wasn’t just children reveling in the snow — pigs, it seems, also had a penchant for playful escapades.

In a delightful twist of events, law enforcement found themselves on porcine patrol in Kentucky and Ohio. From a Duroc snout-deep in the snow in Richmond, Kentucky, to a rebellious pig causing a stir at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Ohio, these encounters showcased the lighter side of policing.

The officers, with a blend of humor and compassion, ensured these wayward swine were safely reunited with their owners. In the end, amid the oinking and laughter, it appears that even law enforcement and pigs found common ground in the wintry whimsy.

Richmond Police reunite a pig with owners in Kentucky

In Richmond, Kentucky, officers responded to a pig that had escaped a trailer on Tuesday. The officers arrived on site to find a Duroc with her snout buried in the snow. 

After posing for photos with their porky, new friend, the Richmond Police Department posted on its Facebook page that the pig was reunited with her owner. 



Pigs were more than just on the menu at this Ohio McDonalds

Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded to a wayward pig at a fast-food restaurant earlier this month. The porky porcine was captured at the McDonald’s drive-thru, defiantly trotting down the side of the road.

“There was a bit of oinking around in Springfield this week after a pig got loose and went hog wild,” Ohio State Highway Patrol said in the Facebook post. “Fortunately, Springfield Post troopers were able to assist the owner and get the insu-boar-dinate pig into custody.”
