As our weekly survey shows, over the past seven days the prices of fattened pigs have increased slightly, but the gap between the Polish and German markets is widening.
According to our weekly survey, the average purchase price of pigs for fattening in class E is currently PLN 9.07 net per kilogram. Compared to last week, this means an increase of 6 euro cents. Prices range from PLN 8.70 to PLN 9.20 net per kilogram.
Livestock prices are currently at the level of PLN 6.50 – 7.60 net per kilogram. The average purchase price is currently PLN 7.09 net per kilogram, which is 19 groszy more than a week ago.
The Polish market cannot keep up with the German market
Unfortunately, the distance between the domestic market and the large German stock exchange is growing. During Wednesday’s quotations, there was a price increase of 5 eurocents to the level of 2.20 euros per kilogram of fattened pig with a meat content of 57%. (equivalent to our E class). Currently, the German price, which is usually quoted by representatives of domestic purchasers, is PLN 9.53/kg, which is almost 50 groszy more than the price in Poland.
