More than 20 percent decline in tractor sales year-on-year

The decline in sales of new agricultural tractors is fully visible. Just a month ago, in the category of small tractors – up to 30 HP, there were more registrations than in the same period last year. Currently, the decline in the number of registrations applies to all power ranges.

According to the latest data prepared by the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Agricultural Machines and Facilities, in May this year. 518 new agricultural tractors were registered. This is the fewest registrations this year and 10 fewer than in February, which was previously the month with the lowest number of registrations. Since the beginning of the year, 3,277 new tractors have been registered. And this is as many as 855 tractors less than in the same period last year. The decline is already 20.7%.

Market leaders: John Deere, Kubota, New Holland

Since the beginning of this year, John Deere has sold the most (sales measured by the number of registrations). By the end of May, 465 machines of this brand were registered. This is 264 pieces less than last year. The market share of the John Deere brand after five months of the year is 14.2%.

Kubota takes second place and has 445 registered machines. This is 12 pieces less than last year. This allowed us to achieve 13.6%. market shares.

New Holland closes the podium, registering 421 tractors, i.e. 190 units less than a year earlier. New Holland’s market share is 12.8%.

Of the 261 registered Deutz-Fahr tractors, it ranks fourth. This result is 113 units weaker than last year. Deutz-Fahr’s market share after five months of the year is 8%.

In fifth place, just like last month, is the Case IH brand with 228 registrations and a share of 7%.

Despite general declines, it should be noted that some brands are slightly gaining in the registration ranking and slightly increasing their market share. It is worth mentioning the Claas brand, which increased its share from 4 to 6.1 percent, Fendt (from 3.3 to 4.2 percent), and Landini (an increase of 1 percent).

Brands and power categories

After five months of 2024, the Kubota brand is traditionally the leader in the lowest power categories up to 50 HP. In the 51-100 HP categories, New Holland is the leader. In the 101-140 HP category, Deutz Fahr is the leader.

In the highest power categories, above 140 HP, John Deere takes first place.

Decreases in all power categories

Just a month ago, in the category up to 30 HP, we recorded more registrations than in the same period a year earlier. Currently, the decline in the number of registrations applies to all power ranges.

The average power of tractors newly registered after the first five months of 2024 was the highest in the Opole Voivodeship and amounted to 185.4 HP. Tractors with the lowest power (average – 83.7 HP) are registered in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
