Morawiecki called for support for protesting farmers. He writes about the possible sending of “police with batons”

Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called on Thursday evening to support protesting farmers. According to him, including border crossings in the strategic infrastructure is intended to send “police with batons” to attack protesters there.

  • Prime Minister Tusk announced on Thursday that to ensure 100 percent guarantee that military and humanitarian aid will reach Ukraine without delays, border crossings with Ukraine and indicated sections of roads and railway tracks will be included in the list of critical infrastructure.
  • According to the former prime minister, such a move means that “protesters will not be able to check what is entering from Ukraine, they will not be able to protest there” and that “the government wants to send police against them with batons and destroy this democratic protest.”
  • Morawiecki emphasized that the right to protest is a “basic democratic right.”

– We should all be with farmers today, we should all empathize with their problems – said the former Prime Minister during an online chat on one of the social networking sites.

– Don’t be fooled, don’t be divided, let’s fight together for the rights of all of us – appealed Morawiecki.

We are with Polish farmers, let us never abandon them, they feed and defend them. And this time they are defending our right to Polish agriculture – he emphasized.

According to him, “it is in the interest of farmers today to introduce an embargo on products from Ukraine, not to ask the EU about it.” The government should also negotiate an agreement with the Ukrainians that is beneficial for the Polish countryside, and not – as he said – “see whether farmers will leave these barricades, these protests.”

Because they won’t come down. I hope that with social support, with the support of all of us, Poles will protest and show more and more what they think about the policies of the current government – noted the PiS politician.

During the chat, Morawiecki also read – as he said – information sent to him by the chairman of NSZZ “Solidarność”, Piotr Duda, that the National Commission of “S” decided on Thursday to provide “active support to protesting farmers”. – We will organize protest actions together until our authorities start defending Poland’s interests – read the former prime minister.

KRIR appeals to farmers to change the form of protest. Will there be a march on Warsaw?

NSZZ RI Solidarność opposes Tusk's words.
