Cattle purchasing prices have been quite stable in recent weeks, although there are clear differences between individual plants.
In the 24th week of 2024, in the surveyed plants, the purchase prices for bulls in class R amounted to a maximum of PLN 20.50/kg (an average of PLN 20.03/kg), while in class O the upper rate is PLN 19.80/kg (an average of 19 .50 PLN/kg). Bulls purchased for live weight reach a maximum price of PLN 12.00/kg (average PLN 11.60).
The prices of heifers are not impressive
The prices offered for post-slaughter heifers in the R class are currently PLN 20.50/kg (average PLN 20.10/kg), and in the O class PLN 19.70/kg (average PLN 19.15/kg). Producers can currently receive up to PLN 11.00/kg (average PLN 10.65/kg) for heifers sold by live weight. The prices of heifers have dropped significantly in recent years and in many plants they are lower than the rates offered for bulls.
Cow prices are relatively high
Currently, you can get a maximum of PLN 18.00/kg for post-slaughter cows (PLN 17.45/kg on average). In turn, when selling by live weight, you can receive a maximum of PLN 8.00/kg (average PLN 7.85/kg) (net prices).
According to purchasing managers, it will be difficult to see significant increases in purchasing prices in the near future. The holiday period, as every year, is less favorable for the beef sector, at least due to reduced demand.
Since domestic prices have approached average European rates, it has become increasingly difficult to negotiate terms with foreign contractors.
