Mixed grain prices on world stock exchanges

Last week, grain prices were in volatile moods. Ultimately, wheat became more expensive and corn became cheaper.

Corn on CBOT is the cheapest in over 3 years

The last week of quotations of grain contracts on global stock exchanges did not bring any positive results. It is true that ultimately the prices of wheat on both sides of the Atlantic went up, but this was rather a reaction to the previous declines. Meanwhile, corn continued to decline, and corn listed on CBOT set a new over three-year price low on Friday.

A slight increase in the price of wheat on MATIF

Wheat in the March delivery contract fell by 0.7% on Friday on MATIF. and cost EUR 206.00/t (PLN 893/t), and y/y the prices dropped by 30.1%. Over the last week, the price of wheat has increased by 1.4%.

The price of corn on the Paris Stock Exchange in the March contract fell by 1.1 percent on Friday. and amounted to EUR 172.00/t (PLN 745/t), and over the last year it decreased by 41.6%. During the week, the prices fell by 0.4%.

Wheat on CBOT in the March contract fell by 1.6% on Friday. and cost USD 210.72/t. On a y/y basis, the prices fell by 22.3%. Over the last week, the price has increased by 2.3%. The price of corn in the March delivery contract on the Chicago Stock Exchange fell by 1.5%. and amounted to USD 157.38/t, and over the last year it decreased by 39.6%. Over the last week, prices have fallen by 4.0%.

CBOT wheat, March contract – the price fell by 1.67% on Friday. ($210.72/t – PLN 844/t).
