Cattle purchase prices have fluctuated to some extent in recent weeks. Currently, we are observing mixed quotations in purchase price lists, although the changes are not significant.
Some plants have adjusted their cattle purchase price lists this week. However, the few establishments that previously offered lower rates have now caught up with the average.
In the 6th week of 2024, in the surveyed plants, the purchase prices for bulls in the R class amounted to a maximum of PLN 20.50/kg (an average of PLN 19.83/kg), while in the O class the upper rate is PLN 19.80/kg (an average of 19 .23 PLN/kg). Bulls purchased for live weight reach a maximum price of PLN 11.70/kg (average PLN 11.23).
Still the most expensive heifers
Prices offered for post-slaughter heifers in class R are currently PLN 21.00/kg (average PLN 20.24/kg), and in class O PLN 20.00/kg (average PLN 19.30/kg). Producers can currently receive up to PLN 11.00/kg (average PLN 10.15/kg) for heifers sold by live weight.
Cow prices are not impressive
The lowest valued category is cows. Currently, you can get a maximum of PLN 17.00/kg (average PLN 15.90/kg) for post-slaughter females. The lowest rates are only PLN 15.5/kg. In turn, when selling by live weight, you can receive a maximum of PLN 8.50/kg (average PLN 7.85/kg) (net prices).
Prices in cattle purchasing centers are relatively stable, but the relatively low euro exchange rate does not motivate plants to introduce price increases. Perhaps the launch of a new campaign for accepting applications for direct subsidies will affect the supply of animals, which in turn will put pressure on price increases.
