Charcuterie boards are hot and there is no better example than the butter board craze video that was produced by a checkoff “Dairy Dream Team” member.
So, why not ride the momentum into Halloween?
After all, Halloween doesn’t have to be just about the candy corn. It can be about dairy, too, as our Dairy Management Inc. colleague Olivia White has shown. She is the creative mastermind behind the Halloween Charcuterie Board that is being featured on the checkoff’s social media channels.
Olivia masterfully uses an assortment of cheeses to deliver a fun Halloween theme. There are brie ghosts, gouda bats and pumpkins, mini mozzarella eyeballs alongside offerings of aged cheddar and merlot parmesan. Joining the board are prosciutto, pancetta, hard salami, green olives, sliced oranges, blueberries, blackberries. and more.
The goal is for consumers to use this creativity to inspire their own dairy-themed boards for Halloween parties and the message already is out there. Check out the content on Undeniably Dairy’s Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest pages.
A second wave of content is set for Oct. 31 when households are no doubt filled with a treasure trove of candy and parents worried about their kids’ nutrition habits taking a dive. But there is a healthy option available to ease parents’ concerns that also helps reduce food waste.
The checkoff will launch tips on producing Halloween Candy Yogurt Bark on Oct. 31. A sneak preview of the content suggests freezing vanilla yogurt in lines and drizzling melted chocolate and leftover candy chopped into bite-size pieces to sprinkle across the top.
