On Thursday, KRIR members, together with farmers from the Slovak Chamber of Agriculture and Food, participated in a protest on the Polish-Slovak border. Both the Polish and Slovak sides presented common demands regarding the need to undertake urgent intervention measures in domestic and European agriculture. KRIR also presented its position in connection with the Prime Minister’s announcement to include border crossings on the list of critical infrastructure.
The announcement from the meeting of the National Council of Agricultural Chambers of the 7th term was published in the afternoon of February 22. As we read, in connection with the information regarding the coverage of border crossings with access roads and railway tracks by critical infrastructure, as well as the dynamic situation on the Polish-Ukrainian border, the National Council of Chambers of Agriculture at a meeting supported a change in the farmers’ protest strategy.
– Dear farmers, we are meeting in Warsaw for a protest on February 27, 2024 under the White and Red Flag – writes KRIR president Wiktor Szmulewicz and adds that further announcements will be issued on an ongoing basis according to the development of the situation.
