The meeting with Deputy Minister Michał Kołodziejczak in Konin, promised to farmers today, was canceled, and finding his parliamentary office caused difficulties for the protesters. The angry farmers promise that since the mountain did not come to Muhammad, Muhammad will come to the mountain…
Where is the office?!
The form of agricultural protests has changed. On April 4, instead of blocking the roads, farmers moved to the offices of MPs and senators. This also happened in Konin. This is an important place because Michał Kołodziejczak ran in the parliamentary elections from district 37, covering Konin and the surrounding counties, as the “number one” from the Civic Coalition lists.
– We are to protest in front of the offices and houses of MPs and senators so that the authorities feel our protests and inconvenience, not our compatriots – said the coordinator of the protest in Konin, Zbigniew Wrzyszcz.
In accordance with the new form of protest, farmers registered today’s assembly at the address of Michał Kołodziejczak’s parliamentary office available online – at 8 Zofii Urbanowska Street in Konin. Today, the protesting farmers were surprised to notice that the sign stating that the deputy minister’s parliamentary office was located there had disappeared from the building.
The organizers of the protest in Konin informed that two days ago they learned about the change of the address of Michał Kołodziejczak’s parliamentary office. Currently, the deputy minister and his office staff reside in another part of the city, on Aleje 1 Maja in the center. According to the organizers, the office must have been moved recently, because when the strike was registered on the government website there was information about the location of the office at ul. Urbanowska.
The farmers who gathered at the no longer valid address spontaneously decided to move to the center, where the deputy minister’s parliamentary office is currently located. It must be admitted, however, that at the initial stage of the protest this issue caused considerable chaos.
The farmers had no one to talk to
Despite his earlier promise, this morning Deputy Minister Kołodziejczak announced that he would not be able to meet farmers in Konin due to other professional commitments.
– We sent e-mails to all parliamentary offices, regardless of political affiliation, and today we visited most parliamentary offices in Greater Poland to talk and motivate them to act. Mostly it looked the same and there were no MPs in the offices – said Emil Lemański from the organization Rola Wielkopolski and Ruch Młodych Farmerów in an interview with farmer.pl.
Farmers in Konin were additionally disappointed by the fact that Deputy Minister Michał Kołodziejczak did not appoint his deputy, a responsible person who would receive and listen to the protesters in the office in Konin today. After arriving at the new address of the parliamentary office, the farmers found the door closed and a note on it informing them that the office was closed today.
– The office is closed. We couldn’t even submit our documents, we couldn’t talk to anyone from this parliamentary office, although a delegation of our representatives was even appointed to the meeting – said Emil Lemański in Konin.
It is worth noting that farmers did not prepare a “gift” for the deputy minister in Konin, as politicians in several other cities received. No manure, straw or other unpleasant “surprises” were delivered to the MP’s office.

Will the protesters visit the deputy minister themselves?
The group – although small – of farmers protesting in Konin expressed their disappointment with the fact that neither the deputy minister nor the representatives delegated by him met with them.
– Mr. Kołodziejczak was supposed to meet us here today, he even asked for a list. The Secretariat kept writing that there would be a meeting, but this morning at nine o’clock it said it would not be able to do it, nor did it delegate anyone as a substitute. This is complete lack of respect. Before he came to power, he promised to support farmers and talked about changes. Nothing comes of it today, said Zbigniew Wrzyszcz.
The angry farmers decided to facilitate a meeting for Michał Kołodziejczak and… visit him at home.
– I think this is the perfect time to move to the deputy minister’s house, maybe we will find him there and he will accept the petition from us, because here we have no one to leave it to – said Sebastian Dziamski from Rola Wielkopolska and the Young Farmers Movement.
