In Wrocław, tractors are already in the city center. Support needed at the border

Is this already Plan B? Farmers in Wrocław moved to the city center. Support is needed at the border.

  • The border blockade must remain in place. Support is needed
  • The tractors entered the center of Wrocław
  • The escalation of protests is dangerous – we are not France

Help needed at the border

Farmers blocking the border with Ukraine are appealing for support. Blockade, among others in Hrebenne it is open 24 hours a day (but not only). It is not easy, because maintaining such a blockade requires huge resources of energy and human strength. In order not to break the blockade, help is recommended because there are no more people, especially at night. Breaking the blockade is even more impossible because re-entering the border and resuming blocking the crossing will be difficult. Farmers therefore appeal to everyone who has the opportunity to contact them and support their activities. All the more so because gigantic work is being carried out on the border section, which includes, among others: contributed to revealing the level of grain purchases from Ukraine.

Tractors in the center of Wrocław

Already at night, columns of tractors from all sides of the city began to enter the center of Wrocław. The tractors are positioned min. on Mazowiecka Street near the Marshal’s Office, under the Provincial Office and on Słowackiego Avenue. On the payroll at ul. Mazowiecka at 8.30 a.m. Holy Mass will be celebrated. for the homeland and farmers. Approximately At 10 a.m. farmers will march to the European Parliament office building in Wrocław.

A farmer was hit in Namysłów

Meanwhile, in Namysłów, a farmer was hit while blocking the roundabout in Kamienna. A silver Ford with registration plates from the Wrocław district was passing cars standing in a blockade. Then the car allegedly entered the pedestrian crossing towards the protesters. At the first crossing, the farmers managed to escape, but at the next crossing the driver hit the farmer with his car. The perpetrator fled the scene, but was stopped by other drivers at a railway crossing a few kilometers away. He allegedly spoke broken Polish and, according to witnesses, probably with a Ukrainian accent. An ambulance arrived at the scene of the accident.

We are not France

Farmers at almost all strike points in the country mention that the strike should be intensified. Only that. There’s not much you can do in Polish conditions. In fact, blockades are a more severe form of protest (because some strikes are based only on the passage of machines through cities or main roads without the possibility of a complete blockade). Increasing the form of protest towards the French model is dangerous. We also see what happened when grain was spilled at the border, when the prosecutor’s office took action very quickly. The French model, although spectacular and probably media-friendly, is also dangerous – both for the strikers and society. And the mood in agriculture is terrible, and it is similar in many other sectors of the economy. All it takes is a spark to make “something” happen. Any more severe actions may lead to irreversible consequences.
