The field work season is in full swing and you can see many agricultural vehicles on the roads – more and more modern, but also larger. When entering road traffic with a tractor or other machine, you must comply with the regulations. We would like to remind you of a few rules – not necessarily obvious and often incorrectly interpreted.
A road is not a field or a farm square, and when you go out on it, you should comply with road traffic regulations. Everyone who has a driving license knows, or at least should know, the general rules for driving vehicles of a given category on the road. But there are also some nuances when it comes to agricultural machinery that are worth knowing so as not to cause hazards on the roads and, of course, not to be exposed to fines.
Who can drive the tractor?
Let’s start with the permissions to drive an agricultural tractor. The basic document remains the “T” category driving license, which gives a full range of possibilities to drive a tractor in various configurations with machines and attached vehicles – of course, in sets consistent with the structure, dimensions, weight, etc., in accordance with the law. With the “T” category, you can drive any size agricultural tractor, as well as mounted or trailed machines or trailer sets. The driver training and examination take place using an agricultural tractor and a two-axle trailer. The student also learns the theory of driving and basic tractor operation.
