Ukraine, together with the UN, is setting new directions for grain exports as part of the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program.
Further shipments of Ukrainian grain will go to needy countries in Africa and the Middle East as part of the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian operation financed by the UN World Food Program – reports the Ukrinform agency. New routes for grain ships are being paved.
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced new initiatives at the 3rd Summit for Democracy. He said that Ukraine had restored balance on the global food market by “lifting the Russian blockade of ports and resuming deliveries of agricultural products.”
– Our humanitarian food program “Grain from Ukraine” is in operation, thanks to which tens of thousands of tons of grain have already been delivered to Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Thank you to the donor countries who helped. Now, together with the UN World Food Program, we are developing new routes for the “Grains from Ukraine” program that will help overcome hunger in Gaza, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and other countries, Zelensky said.
