Support for protesting farmers is still not decreasing. According to a survey conducted by CBOS, it is currently 81%.
It would seem that prolonged farmers’ protests will have an impact on the level of their public support. Nothing could be further from the truth.
In the previous surveys we presented, support for farmers’ protests fluctuated around 75%. We are currently talking about 81%.
Farmers’ protests with strong public support
The first question was: Do you support the current farmers’ protests or not?
This question was answered “definitely yes” by 52% of respondents. The answer “rather yes” was chosen by 29% of respondents.
Only 5% of respondents are definitely against the activities of protesters, while another 5% are rather opposed.
The division of support according to social groups is also characteristic. Among farmers it is at the level of 93%. We observe the same result in the case of people with right-wing views.
Breaking down support for individual parties, we see that farmers are supported by 100% of Confederation voters, 96% of Law and Justice voters and 85% of Third Way voters. The next places were taken by people supporting the Civic Coalition (63%) and the Left (60%).

Society supports stopping the inflow of goods from Ukraine
The next question in the survey concerned limiting the inflow of agricultural products from Ukraine. As many as 85% of respondents were in favor of their detention. 8% believe that such a restriction should not be introduced, while 7% have no opinion on this matter.
The highest results of support for introducing restrictions, similarly to the previous question, are observed in the case of voters of Confederation (99%), Law and Justice (89%) and Third Way (86%). In the case of the Civic Coalition it is 81%, and in the case of Left voters – 57%.

What is your opinion on the Green Deal?
The data obtained in the next question, which directly concerns the Green Deal, is slightly different. 53% of respondents were in favor of making Polish agriculture more efficient and Polish farmers having greater opportunities to compete with farmers from other countries. 37% believe that agriculture should be environmentally friendly, e.g. by reducing the use of fertilizers or increasing organic farming. 10% of respondents have no opinion on this topic.
The distribution of answers to this question revealed numerous and clear socio-demographic differences. Interestingly, younger respondents were more likely to believe that the efficiency of Polish agriculture is more important than ecology, usually associated with greater sensitivity to environmental protection issues. Men, rural residents, people with basic vocational education and respondents with right-wing views were also more likely to be in favor of efficiency. Among the socio-professional groups, farmers again stood out in this respect – says CBOS in its press release.

What is an acceptable form of protest?
The last question asked in the survey concerned the permissible form of agricultural protests. 87% of respondents pointed to demonstrations in front of public buildings, 69% to road blockades, and 64% to blockades of border crossings with Ukraine. However, most Poles were averse to the destruction of agricultural goods from Ukraine (73% opposed to 23% in support).
– It can be assumed that respondents supporting this last, most radical and controversial form of protest constitute the group of the strongest, and perhaps most anti-Ukrainian, supporters of the protests. Who belongs to it? In this group, we often encounter men, younger respondents, less educated, people who assess their financial conditions worse and profess right-wing views. When it comes to socio-professional groups, the destruction of agricultural goods from Ukraine enjoys exceptionally high support among farmers, but also among students. Among the electorates, the supporters of the WiN Confederation (here the votes of support and opposition are almost equal: 45% against 46%) and PiS (32% of support votes) stand out again – CBOS reports.
