Farmers’ protest in Warsaw! The starry march will take place on February 27

There has been talk about the farmers’ protest in Warsaw for some time. On Friday, at the border crossing in Zosin, where another farmers’ protest took place, the decision of the protest leaders was made. It will be a starry march to Warsaw. Farmers from all over Poland will come to the capital on February 27 as part of a warning campaign. If this was unsuccessful, they also announced another date for the general protest.

Farmers’ protests are not slowing down, in fact they are gaining momentum. On Friday, among others, another large protest action at the border crossing in Zosin. It was there that protest leaders from all over the country met to close ranks and write down common demands that will be presented to the minister on Saturday morning.

Initially, the meeting with Czesław Siekierski was supposed to take place only on Monday, but after the protest leaders announced their decision to join the star march to Warsaw, Michał Kołodziejczak called Wiesław Gryn, one of the organizers, with a proposal to meet sooner, i.e. on Saturday in Zosin. Will this meeting be groundbreaking? We will see. However, at the moment, farmers speak with one voice and do not change their plans for now. On Tuesday, February 27, there will be a warning protest in the form of a star march.

Planned route of farmers’ protest in Warsaw

The farmers’ march in Warsaw is about to begin at 11.00 at the Culture and Science Square. Farmers will march in the following order:

  • street Emilia Plater,
  • Al. Jerusalem
  • rondo de Gaulle’a
  • Nowy Świat Street
  • pl. Three Crosses,
  • Rural
  • the building of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland,
  • street Beautiful
  • Al. Ujazdowskie
  • Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

Despite calls from some to boycott the protest in Warsaw and stay at the border, the strike leaders indicated that they would take part in the protest on February 27. They added that it would be a warning protest. Then, on March 6, there will be a general protest if “those in power do not come to their senses.”

Szczepan Wójcik emphasized that from today farmers will speak with one voice, there will be no divisions. Not only farmers, he added, but also hunters and beekeepers. – This is a protest and a march of all of us to Warsaw! – he noticed. Residents of Warsaw should be prepared for significant traffic disruptions, especially in Śródmieście. The farmers’ protest may be large, because there is a large mobilization among this group, and their support is expressed by, among others: hunters and miners.
