On Sunday afternoon in Inowrocław, farmers left a box of manure in front of the office of MEP Krzysztof Brejza from the Civic Coalition. They warned that the protest would soon change its form and would involve visits to the offices of MPs and MEPs.
- The box with manure – as the protesters said – is the first warning.
- They added that if the MEP from Inowrocław does not respond to their demands, they will return to this place with more manure – with tons of it.
– First of all, the Green Deal is in the trash. Secondly, the regulation and ban on food imports from Ukraine. Thirdly, no bans on animal breeding in Poland. In addition, emptying warehouses so that there would be a place to spread grain after the next harvest – said Marcin Wroński from the Self-Defense Agricultural Trade Union.
A new approach to agricultural protest: fewer roadblocks
He announced that now the protests will take a slightly different form. There will be fewer roadblocks and more “visits” to the offices of MPs and MEPs of each party.
After April 4, these actions will be carried out in front of MPs’ offices without regard to their political affiliation. In this way, we want to talk about farmers’ problems and put pressure on them, emphasized Wroński.
One of the farmers protesting on Sunday in Inowrocław said that in this way farmers must make their existence known so that politicians such as MEP Brejza will listen to them.
MEP KO Brejza was not in the office on Sunday. Farmers were not allowed into the building. They left a box of manure in front of the office.
Farmers have been protesting for many weeks, mainly on the roads – against the conditions of trade in agricultural goods from Ukraine and the provisions of the Green Deal. Last week they blocked, among others: the A4 motorway in several places – in Podkarpacie, the Opole region and Lower Silesia. Exits and entrances to the A1 motorway in the province were also blocked.
