Farmers still want to talk to Minister Siekierski. Will the head of the ministry accept their invitation to the border?
- Farmers’ protests have become a sad everyday occurrence.
- The hosts clearly emphasize that they will not give in until they obtain solutions that satisfy them.
- The ministry is cautious in making promises, and farmers are becoming more and more impatient.
Farmers invite the minister to the border
“Recent weeks have shown that farmers’ dissatisfaction is reaching its zenith. Poland has not seen such numerous and huge protests for a long time. The fact that the problem is serious is proven by successive grassroots agricultural movements, independent of political sympathies, unions or organizations. Currently, there are blockades More professional groups are joining, and the views of the protesters are becoming dangerously radical,’ wrote representatives of the Zamość Agricultural Society in a letter to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski.
There will be a meeting of strike leaders on Friday
This Friday, February 23, a meeting of protest leaders from all over the country will be held at the border crossing in Zosin. Farmers also invite the minister to participate.
It’s high time to stop saying the same phrases over and over and start giving specifics. A good opportunity for the above will be the joint speech of strike chairmen, activists of individual organizations and farmers’ representatives at the crossing in Zosin on February 23, 2023, which will start at 10:00 a.m. – they appeal. – We cordially invite the Minister to this event, believing that you care about solving the current crisis as much as we farmers care about the production of healthy Polish food and the survival of our farms.
Will the minister appear at the border? Considering that he is supposed to be in Brussels at that time, the case is rather doubtful, not to say lost.
However, farmers are undeterred and announce that the meeting will take place regardless of whether the minister shows up or not.
