Farmers are already protesting on the roads! Some blockades began at night

In all voivodeships, traffic difficulties are expected from Wednesday morning, mainly on access roads to larger cities and expressways. This is the result of the farmers’ protest planned for Wednesday. The police reported that 580 protests had been announced. In the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, some roads are already blocked.

  • A nationwide strike called by the National Council of the Independent Farmers’ Trade Union “Solidarity” was scheduled for Wednesday.
  • Union spokesman Adrian Wawrzyniak said that farmers are opposed to the “Green Deal”, import of agri-food products from Ukraine, limiting animal breeding in Poland and the “dramatic situation” in agriculture.
  • They want compensation and support for farmers.
  • Officers from all city police headquarters appeal, if possible, to plan your trip in advance, taking into account alternative routes.

This is another recent agricultural protest and, like the previous ones, it will involve blocking roads or slow passage of tractor columns. The protest sites will primarily be access roads to provincial cities and expressways. In many places, farmers plan to gather from the early morning hours.

There were over 550 marked points on the nationwide protest map posted online on Tuesday evening. In turn, the Police Headquarters earlier on Tuesday summarized that 580 protests had been announced throughout the country with the estimated participation of nearly 70,000 people. She informed that this required the police to use significant forces. She also announced that the traffic police will ensure that drivers experience as little disruption as possible.

Securing public gatherings is one of the statutory obligations imposed on the police, whose goal is always to ensure the safety of all citizens and protect their rights and freedoms. The role of police officers is to ensure that all types of gatherings are held in compliance with applicable law, and in the event of its violation, to take appropriate action, noted the Police Headquarters.

Announcements from provincial and municipal police headquarters mention detours in many places of expected agricultural blockades.
